German Diplomat Speaks to UW Students About Shifting World Order

SEATTLE – Former German ambassador and consultant Thomas Matussek spoke to students at Smith Hall at the University of Washington Monday to discuss some of the current and future threats to the current international order.

Matussek previously served as the German ambassador to the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and India before becoming the head of public policy at Deutsche Bank. He now advises businesses and governments on the worldwide effects of Brexit at international consulting firm Flint Global.

“I lived and worked in this country for eight years,” Matussek said. “I think it’s important to get the feeling, the water temperature on the ground, of what’s happening in this country. And not just through the media.”
