Following the EU Summits this week, over the weekend and next week we will see world leaders gather for the G7 Summit in Elmau (Germany) and the NATO Summit in Madrid (Spain). Russia’s war in Ukraine is likely to overshadow the agenda. In the context of these meetings, allies are likely to show solidarity and unity in the face of Russia’s invasion – and to take measures to defend and protect the rules-based international order against acts of aggression by autocratic states.
