In 2022-2023 the American Council on Germany implemented a series of immersive study tours to Germany to learn about Germany’s dual vocational education system. On May 9 during the U.S. Department of Labor’s first National Youth Apprenticeship Week, the ACG held a conversation with professionals who participated in these programs to hear about the lessons learned and best practices and what they are now striving to implement as a result in their states and communities.

On May 1, the American Council on Germany and the Global Coalition on Aging hosted the first in a series of online webinars in the run-up to the Silver Economy Forum in Berlin. Dr. Nicholas Eberstadt, Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy at the American Enterprise Institute, and Prof. Dr. Andrea Maier, Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, discussed the trends, challenges, and opportunities of the demographic megatrend that is our aging population.
