NYC: Economics, Energy, and the Environment: A German Perspective

The ACG will host a breakfast briefing with Dr. Claudia Kemfert, Professor of Energy Economics and Sustainability at the Hertie School of Governance and Head of the Department of Energy, Transportation, and Environment at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW).

This event is open to members of the ACG only.

Dr. Claudia Kemfert is one of Germany’s leading energy economists. Her research focuses on climate change and energy policy. From 2004 until 2009, she was a Professor of Environmental Economics at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Dr. Kemfert is a member of the High-Level Expert Group of the EU Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, the Advisory Group on Energy for the European Commission (DG Research), and the Club of Rome. Dr. Kemfert has advised the EU’s high-level Group on Energy and Climate and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She studied economics in Oldenburg, Bielefeld, and at Stanford University.
