The Denver Warburg Chapter will host a discussion and dinner with Anja Wehler-Schoeck, Resident Director of Jordan and Iraq at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES).
There is a $5 charge for members and a $15 charge for nonmembers to attend this event. Reservations are required here by May 8.
Anja Wehler-Schoeck currently serves as Resident Director of the Amman Office of the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES). In this capacity, she is responsible for the foundation’s work in Jordan and Iraq. FES Amman focuses on promoting democracy and social justice with activities covering a broad spectrum, ranging from parliamentary consultations to youth projects and a special line of work dedicated to political Islam and extremism. Ms. Wehler-Schoeck joined FES in 2005 and has held various positions at the Berlin headquarters of the organization. Before relocating to Jordan in 2012, she served as Desk Officer for the United States, Canada, and Japan. Prior to joining FES, her assignments led her to Tunisia, Jordan, and the United States. She is the author of a number of German and English publications on the Middle East and is a regular contributor to various media with her analyses on Jordan, Iraq, political Islam, and security policy. Ms. Wehler-Schoeck holds a Dual Master’s Degree in Political Science from Sciences Po in Paris, France, and the Free University of Berlin, Germany.
