Paul Stewart Atkins is Chief Executive of Patomak Global Partners LLC, which provides consulting services for financial services industry matters, including regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and risk management. From 2009 to 2010, he was appointed by Congress to serve as a member of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Mr. Atkins served as Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission, appointed by President George W. Bush in July 2002 and leaving office in August 2008. Before his government service, he was a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers and its predecessor firm, Coopers & Lybrand. He focused on advisory work for financial services firms, including regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management issues. In 1993, he was a delegate at the ACG’s XV American-German Young Leaders Conference in Berlin and Hamburg.
