On August 20, the ACG hosted a conversation with Bundestag Member Nils Schmid. Although the discussion was planned to be about the need for Europe to develop a common approach to China and opportunities for greater transatlantic cooperation vis-Ã -vis China, the recent developments in Afghanistan took center stage. Mr. Schmid discussed what the fall of Afghanistan means for German defense and future military interventions; as well as the planned topic of transatlantic cooperation on China.
