In the coming decades, the demographics of Germany and the United States will undergo profound changes. The United States is likely to become a “minority-majority” country by the early 2040s, and German society is becoming increasingly diverse – with nearly a quarter of the population with a migration background – and also aging quickly. How can transatlantic relations become more inclusive and how will demographic shifts help – or hinder – transatlantic cooperation, particularly between Germany and the United States?
