Ms. Maria G. Hackley is Global Head of the Industrials Group within Citi’s Corporate Banking division since 2024. Previously, she was the Global Co-Head of Industrials for Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory since 2016. The Industrials Group is comprised of the largest clients in Aviation, Autos, Shipping, Rail, Metals & Mining, Paper & Packaging, and Diversified Industrials. In her role, Ms. Hackley manages an origination team focused on developing global relationships with Industrial clients with a focus on Corporate Finance transactions. Her strategy is to deliver a wide array of financial solutions providing advice on Capital Structure, Acquisition Finance, Debt Issuance, Infrastructure Finance, Working Capital Optimization, Credit Advisory, Structured Finance, Risk Management (interest rate, equity, and foreign exchange hedging), and Treasury Services. She is also responsible for managing the Industrials balance sheet including capital allocation and optimization. For the previous 30 years, Ms. Hackley was a Coverage Banker responsible for new business origination and deal execution with large cap clients across three sectors: Industrials, Healthcare, and Financial Institutions (Life and Property & Casualty).
Ms. Hackley is a member of the Corporate Banking Executive Committee, the ICG Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (DEI) and the Citi 401K Plan Investment Committee. She is Citi’s Team Captain for Georgetown University undergraduate recruiting and is actively involved in Citi Women’s retention, development, and promotion initiatives. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University with a major in Finance. In 2023, CIO Look Magazine selected Ms. Hackley as one of the Top 10 Most Powerful Latinas in Business. In 2022, 2021, and 2020, American Banker named her one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance. She was also selected as a Council of Urban Professionals (CUP) Catalyst in Finance in 2022. In 2020, Latino Leadership Magazine named her one of the Top 100 Most Influential Latinas. Ms. Hackley is on the Board of Directors of Breakthrough New York, Cuba Emprende Foundation, and the Piping Rock Club in New York. She is a former member of the Georgetown University Board of Regents. She is married, has two daughters, and lives in New York City.
